WELCOME

This new web site, SHORTRIDGE ACADEMY-FYI  is scheduled to go live on or about December 6, 2009.

SHORTRIDGE ACADEMY-FYI is dedicated to publishing problems and complaints related to Shortridge Academy located in Milton, New Hampshire, NH.

Shortridge Academy promotes itself as a "therapeutic boarding school" - an alternative boarding school dedicated to serving wayward, troubled or otherwise academically or emotionally struggling teens for a fee of $5900 per head/per month.

PURPOSE

This web site has been created as a community service.

The purpose of the SHORTRIDGE ACADEMY-FYI web site is to provide an alternative information portal for parents and teens who may be considering Shortridge Academy as a means of corrective "therapy" for their personal "situation". The site will strive to provide information that cannot otherwise be obtained through the limited Shortridge Academy channels which includes their web site, their highly refined and well-packaged sales pitch for their teenager assistance program, and the sense of serenity that can be found while visiting their isolated compound in the foothills of New Hampshire's White Mountains.

SHORTRIDGE ACADEMY-FYI will initially launch with the facts and opinions relating to one family's saga with Shortridge Academy, including the institution's sales and marketing approach, the management team, staff members past and present, staff member turnover, the welfare of the students entrusted in their care, and quality of the education received—or in this case apparently not received during the 18-month $100K+ program, and Shortridge Academy's complete failure to meet critical expectations in providing for our teenage child.

As public awareness and interest the SHORTRIDGE ACADEMY-FYI web site increases a blog will be added to enable other Shortridge Academy alumni, teens, and/or their parents to share their experiences and complaints, including the good, the bad, and the ugly. This information portal may also include an invitation to Shortridge Academy to participate in any discussions and/or to publicly respond to any complaints, facts, and opinions published within.
